When it comes to the Dacia Duster used in this comparison test, it is much simpler than its rival Defender. Dacia Duster is equipped with a 1.5-liter inline 4-cylinder K9K 896 turbocharged engine that produces 115 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque. This miniature diesel is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission that transmits power to the front wheels.
The Duster in this video has an optional all-wheel-drive system that can transfer power to the rear wheels in all-wheel-drive mode. The big advantage of the Duster over the Lander Rover Defender is its small size and lightweight. The Duster weighs only 1,405 kg.
The Land Rover Defender 110 X, which participated in this competition, is a real SUV that combines all the off-road technologies of Land Rover. The Defender 110 in this video uses a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder diesel engine with 300 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. This powerful in-line six-cylinder engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that transmits power to all four wheels through Land Rover’s sophisticated all-wheel-drive system.
The Defender 110 is much larger and heavier than the Dacia Duster, weighing 5,080 pounds (2,340 kg), measuring 197.6 inches long and 78.6 inches wide.
