This time, the German company Volkswagen presents the first look at its new portrait-style infotainment system. It is expected to be identical to the Ford Ranger system, although the rest of the cabin has its own unique features in each pickup.
The Amarok will be available with a large touchscreen covering most of the center console, 10 or 12 inches in diameter depending on the trim level — just like in the Ford Ranger. The new system will offer more connectivity and premium design. Climate control, navigation, online services, car settings, parking assistant, and multimedia management will be integrated on the screen.
“The portrait-style touchscreen display is installed between the air vents of the climate control, which are slightly different from the Ford, having a more angular shape. The physical buttons for shortcuts under the infotainment system are also unique to Amarok. In the latest teaser, you can also see a Volkswagen steering wheel with built-in buttons and a backlit logo.”
In addition to the fashionable infotainment system, the concern specified that the pickup will be equipped with an electronic dashboard, IQ. Light Matrix LED technology, more than 30 ADAS, seats with electric adjustment in 10 parameters, and a premium audio system.

The model range will consist of five trim levels: Amarok basic configuration, Life and Style mid-level, as well as flagship models Panamericana, adapted for off-road, and Aventura, road-oriented. Powertrain options will include one petrol and four diesel engines with a volume of 2.0 to 3.0 liters. We also know that Amarok is capable of towing 3.5 tons and carrying capacity up to 1.2 tons.
The 2023 VW Amarok pickup truck will make its debut towards the end of the year, shortly after production begins in South Africa.
