The updated Volkswagen Lavida sedan debuted in China. Since 2008, this model has sold more than 5 million copies.
The SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture has presented an updated third-generation Lavida sedan for the Chinese market. The car, conceptually and technically close to the Jetta model, is one of the most popular cars in China.
The Volkswagen Lavida, based on the MQB modular platform, can be distinguished from its predecessor thanks to an enlarged radiator grille, upgraded LED headlights, and another bumper with new air intakes. The model also has a “Star Edition” version, which received a radiator grille with a cellular pattern, a sports bumper in the style of the R-Line line, and darkened optics.
As for the interior, they installed a new front panel with a digital instrument panel and a separate touch screen. In addition, a new multifunctional steering wheel was installed inside.
There is no information on the engines yet, but it is assumed that the updated Volkswagen Lavida will be available with the same 1.4-liter gasoline turbo engine developing 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The unit operates together with a seven-speed DSG “robot” with two clutches.
