Toyota has revealed a new low-cost crossover Urban Cruiser Hyryder 1

A new Toyota crossover called Urban Cruiser Hyryder has been introduced in India. It is slightly larger than the usual Urban Cruiser, so it will compete with Hyundai Cerato and Kia Seltos. The range of engines of the model includes an atmospheric 1.5 c 48—volt starter generator and a full-fledged hybrid installation from Yaris Cross, which allows you to drive about 25 kilometers on one electric traction. According to unofficial information, the initial Hyryder will cost one million rupees.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, which debuted in India, is a joint development of Toyota and Suzuki, using the Vitara platform (Macphersons in the front, torsion beam in the rear) and its engine. The model received an atmospheric 1.5, supplemented with a 48-volt Neo Drive starter generator.

Hyryder’s length exceeds four meters, which means it will compete with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Skoda Kushaq, while the usual Urban Cruiser will continue to select buyers from Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Nissan Magnite.

The Hyryder base engine develops 102 horsepower and 135 Nm of torque. A choice of five-speed mechanics or a six-band automatic is offered, but all-wheel drive is available only for three-pedal cars (competitors do not have it at all). The alternative is a hybrid installation from Yaris Cross. Gasoline “atmospheric” 1.5 TNGA (92 hp, 122 Nm) in it is combined with an electric motor (80 hp, 141 Nm), and in total they give 115 forces. Without starting the internal combustion engine, the Hyryder Hybrid can travel 25 kilometers.

In addition, the top crossover variants will have as many as six airbags.
