Toyota Motor Corporation was named the company with the largest debts in 2021/2022. The second place in this anti-rating belongs to the German automaker Volkswagen AG.
This information is shared by the Telegram channel Statist, referring to the study of the international group Janus Henderson. To compile the rating, experts studied the net debt volumes of 900 global companies.
We are talking about the sum of all the debts of the company minus its cash reserves and their equivalents. Moreover, financial companies remained outside this study. As a result, Toyota topped the list with debts of $186 billion.
Volkswagen AG follows with a slight lag – 185 billion dollars. Mercedes-Benz AG also made it into the top ten among automakers – $109 billion.
Recall that at the beginning of the year Toyota was recognized as the most expensive car brand in the world.
The Japanese automaker took 12th place in the TOP 500 most expensive companies. Mercedes-Benz took silver in this ranking, and Tesla took bronze.
