Audi showed the first motorcycle in its history. It is electric and designed specifically for India, where it will be used as a Tuk Tuk Auto Rickshaw. This is reported by the official website of the German brand.
The Audi motorcycle was created together with the Indian startup Nunam. The project was implemented with the support of the Audi Environmental Foundation. Three electric rickshaws were assembled at the engineering and logistics center of the German company in Neckarsulm.

It looks like a typical Indian Tuk Tuk, but a little modern. It has LED optics, and a liquid crystal display has appeared in the cabin. The motorcycle is designed for a driver and two passengers. The construction uses materials obtained by recycling.
The auto-rickshaw battery is assembled from spent lithium-ion battery packs from Audi e-Tron electric crossovers. The characteristics of the electric bike have not yet been disclosed. They will become known closer to the start of their production in 2023.

Motorcycles from the pilot batch have already found use – they will help Indian women engaged in small business. Together with Tuk Tuk, charging stations that are powered by solar panels and also use old Audi e-Tron batteries will be produced.
It should be noted that electric auto-rickshaws have been produced in India for a long time. However, they are slow and use short-lived lead batteries.
