From August 18 to 20, the Mecum auction house will hold auctions, within which three unique prototypes of the Ferrari LaFerrari supercar will be offered for purchase. Test machines of different years of production were built to test different systems of the famous super hybrid. All the presented models cannot be operated on public roads. Despite the limitations, previously unseen cars are of great interest to collectors from all over the world.
One of the first prototypes of the serial LaFerrari is the model F150 Mulatto M4, built-in 2011. The pre-production sample was prepared on the basis of the 458 Italia with a modified chassis. On the supercar, engineers tested the components of the power plant and measured the level of harmful CO2 emissions.
The next test model was built a year later. A supercar called the F150 Mulotipo MP1 received one of the first carbon monocoque variants. At the same time, the appearance of the prototype was still significantly different from the serial LaFerrari. The modification was developed for testing mechanical elements.
Completes the collection of F 150 Prototype Preserie PS1 test cars. The pre-production model, built in 2014, is almost identical to the serial LaFerrari. The prototype is equipped with the same chassis and active aerodynamics. The model differs from the final version of the supercar by the engine, which was still being finalized at that time.
Representatives of the auction house do not disclose the cost of unique prototypes that will be available for purchase from August 18 to August 20, 2022. It is expected that the minimum cost of each pre-production model will be about five million dollars.
