The revived DeLorean brand announced that it was preparing a new electric car in February of this year. In May, the first renderings of the future battery novelty appeared. The official presentation of the running prototype Alpha5 was held this week in the California city of Pebble Beach as part of the traditional automotive “elegance contest”.
The main feature of the electric DeLorean Alpha5 is special lifting doors that provide access to both rows of seats at once. The interior of the car is designed for four seats, and each of the seats boasts an anatomical profile.
There are no middle racks here, so the seat belts are built right into the front row seats. Also, when designing a car interior, designers adhered to the principles of minimalism. The interior was decorated with a truncated steering wheel, a virtual instrument panel, and a compact multimedia touchscreen. Between the seats of the second row, there is its own screen. The ventilation deflectors here are stretched almost the entire width of the cabin.
Describing the exterior, I would like to draw attention to the rear headlight line, under which there was a place for a concave glossy black surface. At the bottom of the rear bumper, there is an element very similar to the diffuser.

“The developers promise that the serial DeLorean Alpha5 can be accelerated to 248 km/h. The electric car will spend about three seconds to accelerate to a hundred.”
Equipped with Alpha5 battery for 100 kWh. Its resource should be enough to cover about 480 km on one charge. In addition to the battery, two electric motors will be responsible for the performance of the electric car.
