The Canadian company InkasArmored has introduced an armored version of the Lexus LX 600 SUV of the new generation. The car is protected according to the BR6 standard — this means that it can withstand shelling with bullets of the 7.62×63 mm standard and simultaneous-detonation of two DM 51 fragmentation grenades. The car is more like a “fortress” in terms of passenger safety: there was even doorway protection integrated into rubber seals.
Lexus LX 600 from Inkas received multilayer bulletproof glass, specially reinforced doorways, as well as ballistic protection of the fuel tank, the entire bottom, and engine compartment, including protection of the battery and electronic control units. Thanks to this, the car can withstand the shelling from assault rifles and the simultaneous detonation of two grenades.
In addition, the suspension was strengthened for the SUV, run-flat tires were installed, a fire extinguishing system, door servos, powerful 10-piston brakes, and even a kind of “emergency exit from the cabin” system.
Strobe lights, night vision systems, sirens, intercom, and special reinforced wheels can be ordered as an option for an armored SUV. How much the mass of the Lexus LX has increased, taking into account that the booking is not specified.
The armored car can be ordered with a twin-turbo “six” 3.5 with a capacity of 415 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic. A standard LX with such a power plant gains a hundred in 6.9 seconds.
