Rumors about Lexus’ plans to expand its model range in the SUV segment with a new large crossover appeared last year, but the first details about the project were revealed in early 2022. Now there is the first photo of the new Japanese premium SUV during tests.
Now here comes the first photo of the new Japanese premium SUV, which was shot during the tests.
A picture of the car was found in the latest issue of the specialized Japanese magazine “Mag-X”. In the photo, the Lexus TX is captured in profile, and its body is clad in dense camouflage.

Judging by the photo, the crossover will get a brutal design and a massive rear overhang. It’s too early to talk about other elements of the model’s exterior.
But what is already known for sure is the technical component of TX. Lexus will design its new crossover based on the TNGA-K with a transverse arrangement of the power unit, and will also offer several model variants at once, including the petrol version of the TX 350 and the hybrid modification of the TX 500h.
The Lexus TX can accommodate up to seven people inside. The model should be more similar to a passenger car in its driving manners than the Lexus GX 3-row SUV, and also get a more spacious interior than the 3-row version of the Lexus RX L midsize crossover.

As for the engine, the Japanese media call the 3.5-liter V6 the most suitable power unit for the TX, which will get the TX 350 version, as well as a hybrid based on the same internal combustion engine, designed for modification of the TX 500h.
The new Lexus crossover, which is expected to compete with the BMW X7, will be released closer to the end of 2023.
