The Chinese division of the consulting firm J. D. Power has published a rating of car owners’ satisfaction with new energy vehicles or NEV (New Energy Vehicle), as they are commonly called. In order to make a list, 5,600 motorists were interviewed, who rated their electric cars and hybrids according to a variety of parameters. As a result, Chinese cars were higher than foreign ones in the rating.
The positions in the rating are distributed according to the points of the SSI satisfaction Index (Sales Satisfaction Index). The overall assessment takes into account the exterior and interior, the convenience of the cabin, the power plant, driving sensations, performance and safety, the operation of the multimedia system, comfort while driving, range, and others. The maximum value is 1000 points.
In total, 65 models of 36 brands presented on the Chinese market were evaluated, but only 17 cars of different classes and segments were included in the final rating. So, the best in their classes were Neta V (compact), BYD Song Plus (mid-size crossover), and Nio ES8 (premium segment). We are talking about cars that were in operation from two months to six months at the time of the survey.
The vast majority of models in the list are Chinese, and only two cars represent foreign companies, these are the Tesla Model Y (second place among all-terrain vehicles) and the BMW iX3, which has secured the third position in the ranking of luxury cars.
