The Chinese brand Roewe has published photos of the new flagship crossover RX9, which will become a competitor to the Toyota Highlander. It will make its debut at the Chengdu Auto Show at the end of August this year and will receive a three-row interior and a 235-horsepower turbo engine paired with a nine-band automatic transmission. In addition, the SUV will be made in a new design style, the distinctive features of which will be a huge radiator grille and narrow headlights.
The Roewe brand belongs to the SAIC concern. The brand’s lineup includes ten models, and very soon the RX 9 crossover will be added to it. The flagship of the Roewe line in China will be made in a new design style, although it does not have any serious differences from the previously used “Rythm Wake-Up”.

The SUV got a wide “mouth” of the radiator grille, sliding door handles, and narrow headlights. The interior was decorated with a digital cluster with kinks, which combined the “tidy”, the main screen of the media system, and an additional display for the passenger. Several types of leather and plastic with a “wood-like” texture are used in the decoration.

In the pictures, the Roewe RX9 is shown in an expensive version with separate seats on the second row. However, there will also be a seven-seater version with an ordinary sofa. The length of the car is almost five meters, that is, of the large crossovers with load-bearing bodies, it is close in size to the Toyota Highlander and Volkswagen Teramont. The “nine” is driven by a 2.0 turbo engine with a recoil of about 235 forces.
The transmission is a nine-band automatic. All—wheel drive – only in expensive trim levels. The official premiere of the Roewe RX9 will take place at the Chengdu Auto Show, which will open at the end of August. At the same time, it is possible that the model will be sold on global markets in the future, but already under the MG brand, which also belongs to SAIC.
