EuroNCAP organization held a new series of crash tests. This time, safety tests by European methods passed five crossovers. The results are published on the official website of EuroNCAP.
Crash tests passed five crossovers. Among them, there are electric cars Genesis GV60 and Tesla Model Y, and hybrid Kia Niro. In addition, two models from Great Wall were tested – Wey Coffee 01 hybrid and electric car ORA Funky Cat. For EuroNCAP Chinese cars are still rare, although previously a number of models have been tested, and they received the maximum rating of 5 stars.
Wey Coffee 01 and ORA Funky Cat also were 5 stars and in some crash tests scored higher than other brands. In general, all five cars received the maximum score, but the Kia Niro earned it only in the top version with extended safety features. The base Niro is rated 4 stars.
The electric car Tesla Model Y became the best – it is the safest car of 2022 according to EuroNCAP. The crossover scored high at 97% for adult occupant protection and 87% for child protection, a record 82% for pedestrian protection, and 98% for electronic safety systems.
