Dominique Aegerter, despite everything, intends to move to World Superbike in 2023 and is ready to sacrifice a brilliant career in Supersport with Yamaha for this.
Egerter stated that his manager is negotiating with different teams (not just Yamaha teams), and “any decision will be good.”
“Obviously, my goal is to join World Superbike. Of course, the ideal solution would be to continue the successful line together with Ten Kate Yasha if they wanted to reopen the project in SBK. But at the moment it’s only an option, and my manager is negotiating with other teams. The holidays will start at WSBK after the Bridge, and I will be able to concentrate on racing in MotoE. And my manager is looking for a new place,” Aegerter said.
Toprak Razgatlioglu’s manager, a veteran of the Supersport class – Kenan Sofuglu warned Dominique against a rash act with the transition to the SBK class at the peak of his career. First of all, because of his age: Dominique will turn 32 in September. Sofuglu noted that Aegerter could become an absolute star of the Supersport class and earn enough money at the peak of his career while switching to the SBK class is a risky step that could end in a total fiasco and lead to the premature end of the Swiss’s career.
