Special taxis have appeared on the streets of London. They are not the traditional black color but mirrored. The cars were created especially for the celebrations dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. Three LEVC TX taxis were covered with a mirror film imitating platinum. Thus, the London Electric Vehicle Company joined the celebration of the platinum jubilee of Elizabeth II.
In addition to the non-standard coloring, the “jubilee” LEVC TX Platinum is no different from standard London taxis. These are rechargeable hybrids with two electric motors with a total capacity of 300 hp and a 1.5-liter 81-horsepower gasoline engine. They are able to travel 130 km in electric mode and another 477 km on gasoline. Cars have been produced since 2018, not only in the UK but also in China, because LEVC was bought out by Geely.

It is noteworthy that the “platinum” LEVC TX does not perform its main duties and does not carry passengers. Now they are cruising around London empty for advertising purposes, and on June 5, these cars will be used to bring VIP guests to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the reign of Elizabeth II. Silver taxis will be seen by millions of viewers around the world.
