By 2026, all new Audi products will be fully electric, and by 2033, the company will complete the production of cars with internal combustion engines. Among other things, this means that the A3 family of the next, fifth generation will not have an internal combustion engine.

It should appear sometime at the beginning of the second half of this decade. The Motor1 artist tried to imagine what a similar car might look like, which would be called the A3 e-Tron.

It is known that Audi wants to keep the recognizable design of the Single frame grille even for battery-powered models. In this case, this panel will be deaf, but functional ventilation holes for cooling the brakes will be located on the sides. The head optics will become narrower, and cameras will replace the traditional rearview mirrors, which will have a positive effect on aerodynamics.

By the way, the name A3 e-Tron appeared in the previous, third-generation – even before the release of the battery-powered crossover e–Tron – but this was not a fully electric, but a hybrid modification of the model.

Rumor has it that the basis for the Audi A3 e-Tron electric car will be the Scalable Systems Platform (SSP) architecture, currently being developed by Volkswagen. The title brand plans to build its new technological flagship on it: it will charge quickly, travel over 700 kilometers, have a high degree of autonomy (the fourth of the five existing levels), and at the same time cost from 35 thousand euros. A new plant in Wolfsburg is going to be built for SSP machines.

Audi is also currently working on the A6 e-Tron, Q6 e-Tron, and Q8 e-Tron families. In addition, the electric car is going to replace the gasoline supercar R8.
