Dorna Sports and Saudi Motorsport Company (TSMC) have signed a memorandum of understanding, which prescribes a kind of roadmap on the way to the Saudi Grand Prix of MotoGP. There are no specific dates yet, but the location and the general plan are known.
The signing took place on Sunday at the San Marino Grand Prix in Misano. The weekend was visited by Prince Khalid Bin Sultan Al Abdullah Al-Faisal, who heads the Saudi Federation of Auto and Motor Sports.
Dorna Sports is interested in developing new territories, and the Middle East is a tasty morsel for the Spanish promoter, especially since Formula 1 has already entered the Arabian Peninsula following the Dakar rally Marathon.
The roadmap includes such moments as the creation of the “Road to MotoGP” program in Saudi Arabia and the search and education of young athletes.

A park city under construction Qiddiya has been named the venue for the Saudi Grand Prix. This is part of the big Saudi Vision 2030 plan. A grandiose urban-type racetrack will be built in Qiddiya, that is, hotels, restaurants, observation decks and amusement parks will surround the closed track from all sides. There is no talk of holding a MotoGP on a street track in Jeddah, where Formula 1 is held.
Considering that the Qiddiya project is still “in development”, we can talk about plans for 2025-26.
