The BestCarWeb portal, specializing in insider information about Japanese cars, shared new details about future Toyota novelties. Journalists, citing unnamed sources, say that the Land Cruiser Prado will get a new special version in early August, and by the end of the year the brand will present the “fifth” Prius. Next, in the spring of 2023, the premiere of the fourth generation of Toyota Alphard will take place, next year a new generation of Land Cruiser Prado is expected.
In the schedule of the release of new products, there is the certain special equipment for the Land Cruiser Prado, which is designed to warm up interest in the frame SUV on the eve of the generation change. Most likely, we are talking about the Matte Black Edition series, announced in July this year — such an SUV will differ from the standard with a darkened decor. As for the new generation Land Cruiser Prado, which will debut next year, it will share components and assemblies with the Land Cruiser 300.
The next in line is the fifth—generation Prius, which will be shown in December 2022. According to unofficial data, the model is presented in two versions, standard and with the possibility of recharging from an outlet.
The hybrid unit will include an internal combustion engine with a volume of 1.8 liters, and a traction nickel-metal hydride battery of increased efficiency is expected from the innovation. According to preliminary data, the generation change will bring the Prius a new exterior and interior design.
The new Toyota Alphard, which is scheduled to debut in the spring of 2023, will move to the TNGA platform. The engine range is rumored to be unified with the Crown crossover — Alphard will receive two hybrid installations based on 2.5 and 2.4-liter engines.
Officially, Toyota has not yet confirmed the timing of the presentation of new products. Currently, the automaker is unable to cope with the flow of orders for recently released models, namely the Land Cruiser 300, Lexus LX, and NX. In early June, it became known that the company even had to suspend the acceptance of new applications in order to work out those already accepted.
