Polestar sold out the entire circulation of the electric roadster under the index 6. According to the press service, all 500 slots were disassembled in the first week after the start of accepting orders. So far, they have been accepted only for the “welcome” version of the LA Concept, in which the electric car with a hinged roof received a special Sky blue color, 21-inch wheels, and eco-friendly interior decoration. For the reservation, it was required to deposit 25 thousand dollars.

Polestar diligently “warmed up” the audience before the start of sales. In March, she presented a spectacular electric concept O2 with a drone included, assuring that “the ability to lower the roof and not hear the motor gives an incredible feeling.” Then the novelty of a rigid folding top was shown to the public live at American exhibitions — The Quail and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance competition.

As a result, the entire edition of Polestar 6 LA Concept, limited to 500 copies, was selected in a week. In response to the high demand, the company promises to open a reservation of “regular” versions of the model by the end of 2022, but they will begin to be assembled only after the delivery of the first five hundred electric cars.

“The high demand shows that such an amazing roadster as the Polestar 6 is of great importance in the sports car segment. The combination of an open-top and electric motor clearly appeals to even the most avid fans of fuel cars,” said Thomas Ingelat, head of Polestar.

The full price of the Polestar 6 has not yet been disclosed, and the electric car will not be cheap. Representatives of the brand announced the estimated cost — about 200 thousand dollars.

The Polestar 6 is built on an aluminum platform, and it is driven by a twin-engine power plant that produces 884 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. From zero to the first “a hundred” it accelerates in 3.2 seconds, and the maximum speed is limited to 250 kilometers per hour. The capacity of the 800-volt battery, as well as the power reserve, have not yet been disclosed.
