Photos have been published in which you can see a camouflaged prototype of the updated Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate station wagon.

Just a day after we saw a “spy” video with a test prototype of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate – the car was spotted at a traffic light, Western publications published several more detailed photos of the upcoming station wagon. We expect that the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan will appear in 2023, but it is unclear when a more practical version of the novelty will be shown.

“As expected, the front end looks identical to the one that the Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan has.”

A pair of horizontal stripes indicates that this is the standard version of the model, not the more powerful version from AMG. The headlights have running lights along the top of the lamps and curved sections at the bottom. The entrance to the lower fascia is wide horizontally and narrow vertically.

Changes in the design of the station wagon begin with the central rack. At this point, the sedan’s roof begins to taper down. Judging from the photos, this change could lead to more overhead space for passengers in the back seats. In addition, there is clearly more cargo space in the back.

The body of this car is covered with dense camouflage. In some of these photos, the car’s turn signal is on, and it has a curved shape, as do the lower running lights in front. The bumper hides the exhaust pipes.

The cabin has a large display on the dashboard. It is reported that the functions of the new S-class are also being transferred to the new E-class, as well as some driver assistance technologies of the flagship model.

We expect the E-Class to be available with multiple powertrains, including hybrid variants and PHEV variants. The top model AMG 63 will use a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric drive and a separate electric motor. As a result, the total power will be 671 horsepower, at least this is the power of the new C 63.

The new E-Class Estate has competitors from German competitors. BMW is working on a new 5th series. We don’t have his spy shots yet, but there are rumors that a new M5 station wagon is coming soon. Audi is working on a production version of the A6 Avant E-Tron concept and plans to release the model in 2024.
