The Dongfeng—controlled Frothing brand will add an electric crossover to its lineup, named after the best day of the week – Friday. It will receive a single electric motor on the front axle and will be able to accelerate up to 180 kilometers per hour. The basis of the novelty is the Farthing T5 EVO petrol SUV, the prices for which in China start from 108,900 yuan.

Since 2001, Chinese Dongfeng has been producing sedans, crossovers, and minivans under the Forthing (Fengxing) brand — a total of 14 models. But soon they will be joined by another all-terrain vehicle named Friday. This is an electric car based on the Forthingt5 EVO, instead of a 1.5 turbo engine (197 hp) and a DCT “robot” using an electric power plant with a capacity of 204 horsepower.

In terms of size, Frothing Friday practically does not differ from the T5 EVO, and the wheelbase of the cars is the same at all — 2715 millimeters. At the same time, the electric car will receive an original design of the front part and contrasting accents along the lower perimeter of the body.

The start of sales is scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. There are no prices yet, but the initial T5 EVO costs 108,900 yuan.

Well, last month, the first pre-production copy of the Warrior M18 model rolled off the assembly line of the Dongfeng plant in China. A brutal all-terrain vehicle with an electric power plant with a capacity of 1070 horsepower challenges the GMC Hummer EV, although they are unlikely to compete directly for buyers. According to preliminary information, the cost of the M18 will be 600,000-700,000 yuan.
