The news about the parting of the main characters in the MotoGP paddock – Marc Marquez and his mentor and permanent manager for 17 years, Emilio Alzamora, finally received official confirmation.
Emilio Alzamora led the career of Marc Marquez from the first day, as soon as Marc switched from mini moto to a “big” GP125 class motorcycle in the Catalan Cup. It was Alzamora who brought Marc to the Grand Prix, providing him with an ideal career, and then took up the affairs of his younger brother, Alex, and led him to victory in the Moto3 World Championship, and then in Moto2.
Although Alzamora and the Marquez brothers initially did not plan to bring the situation to the public, information about the breakup of the relationship leaked on the air, giving rise to a lot of rumors.
Alzamora’s company, AC Management, issued an official press release today explaining the real situation. Nothing special, just a statement of facts and comments.
“The Marquez brothers and Emilio Alzamora have made a mutual decision to part ways after 18 years of fruitful cooperation. Emilio started working with Mark when he was 12 years old, inviting him to her racing school [Monlau Competition]. Later, Alex, who is 3 years younger than Mark, followed the same path. Over the years, Marc has won 8 world titles, and Alex has taken two, both riders began to represent a real level in the championship, rivals were equal to them,” the press release says.
“After a three-way discussion between us, we decided that it was time for everyone to go their own independent way, opening new chapters in their lives. These years have been very important in my life, but all good things come to an end one day, and I would like to thank Marc and Alex, as well as Roser and Julia for their trust. We have always worked shoulder to achieve common goals and success,” said Emilio Alzamora.
