Kawasaki is working on a larger 400cc version of the Ninja ZX-25R. Until recently, we had only a few speculated details about this inline-four engine. But now the expected launch date for the bike has been revealed.

Kawasaki Indonesia has released a teaser video that doesn’t show the bike, but the “ZX” logo is clearly visible. And one reliable Japanese online publication claims that it will be the Ninja ZX-4R.

Like the ZX-25R, which has been sold in international markets for several years, the ZX-4R will also feature a performance-oriented inline four-cylinder engine. According to documents leaked in August, it will be powered by a 399cc engine that can produce 65-70 horsepower. Notably, the 25R puts out about 50 “horses,” which is commendable considering its displacement.

With the Ninja ZX-4R, Kawasaki is said to have its eye on the Aprilia RS660 and Yamaha R7.
