“Today I’m smiling all day! After a lot of effort, I was driving the bike again. Thank you to everyone who constantly supports me! We are in business,” Marc Marquez said shortly, posting a whole series of photos of training on a motorcycle at a racetrack. Mark seriously intends to return to work with the prototype at the 2-day IRTA MotoGP tests after the San Marino Grand Prix. Honda Racing has already prepared a statement on this topic.
In June 2022, Marc Marquez, 8-time world champion, and 6-time MotoGP champion underwent the 4th surgery on the right humerus. In fact, surgeons from the American Mayo Clinic disassembled his bone, sawed it, and reassembled it, correcting the curvature of the geometry. Under loads after the 3rd operation, the curvature (twisting) was up to 30%, which represented serious limitations in movements.

Marc needed to avoid any kind of stress for at least 2 months. As a result, after 8 weeks of rehabilitation, doctors made new 3D images that showed excellent results. The attending doctors allowed Marc to intensify the load and go to training with the use of a motorcycle.

And now, this day has come! Look at Marc’s face – it is more eloquent than 1000 words. And that smile…
Today is the first day in the last 3 months when Marc was able to ride his Honda CBR600R training car on one of the Spanish training tracks.

Honda Racing expects Marc Marquez to return to the team, but not to race at the San Marino Grand Prix. But he would like to take part in the IRTA MotoGP tests, which are scheduled for the next two days after the race in Misano.

HRC announced the participation in the tests of all four MotoGP drivers – Alex Marquez, Takaaki Nakagami, Pol Espargaro, and Stefan Bradl, as well as Marc Marquez. Of the five, Bradl and Marc Marquez will be the main actors, as the rest of the riders will leave the Honda camp in 2023.
