More than 2 thousand Audi A8 will be recalled due to the need to change the VIN 1

More than 2000 Audi A8L executive sedans are subject to recall due to the need to change the VIN code. The Chinese division of FAW-Volkswagen found out that 2206 cars were mistakenly assigned an identification number that does not correspond to the year of production. You can fix the problem only through dealers, they will have to change the marking plates, as well as the documents for the car, which means motorists cannot do without re-registration.

The Chinese branch of FAW-Volkswagen reports that the issue is related to some Audi A8L imported to China, produced between January 7 and February 22, 2022. Due to a manufacturing defect, the information about the release date on the nameplate and in the accompanying documents does not correspond to the information about the model year in the VIN code.

The regulator says that the automaker will help drivers get a new car registration certificate with the correct VIN code. It seems that FAW-Volkswagen will also take on the costs of re-registration, although this is not reported. All motorists with an unusual issue will be notified soon.

For Audi A8, the car market of China is the largest in the world, and therefore in China, the executive sedan has unique modifications. A month and a half ago, sales of the Audi-Horch limousine began, and very soon the basic A8 with a tax-favorable four-cylinder 2.0 turbo engine will be put on sale.
