This year Mitsubishi Colt celebrates its 60th anniversary. The new model will be created in cooperation with Renault.
The first teaser of the new Mitsubishi Colt has appeared. This B-class model will be revived after nine years of absence on the market. The official website of the Japanese brand reports about it.
The new Mitsubishi Colt will be presented at the end of the present year, and in 2023 the hatchback goes into production. The revival of the model will be timed to its 60th anniversary – the first generation of Colt debuted in 1962. The production of the hatchback was stopped in 2013.
It is clear from the image that the Mitsubishi Colt 2023 is based on the Renault Clio. The hatchback has the same silhouette and rear door handles are hidden in roof pillars. The car differs from the French colleague by the design of the front part with C-shaped LED headlights.
The hatchback is likely to be offered only in a hybrid version. From Renault Clio, the power plant E-Tech with a 1,6-liter petrol engine and electric motor with a total capacity of 140 hp will be borrowed.
Mitsubishi Colt will not be the only model of the brand based on Renault. Earlier it became known that the new Mitsubishi ASX will twin with Renault Captur.
