In 2022, it will be 20 years since the British MINI brand was first officially introduced in the United States. On the occasion of the round date, the automaker decided to release a special series of 5-door hatchback Mini Cooper S, which received a special body decor and a number of stylistic solutions that make it possible to highlight the novelty against the background of other representatives of the model range. And to give fans of the brand the opportunity to join the history of the brand and its presence in North America.
The hatchback of the previous generation appeared in the USA in 2002 and the three-door was available in Chili Red, but the modern model will be offered in a wider range of shades – Chili Red, Pepper White, and Island Blue. As noted in MINI, the palette was chosen based on considerations of patriotism — all these colors are used in the national flags of both Great Britain and the USA.
Regardless of the main color, the roof and rearview mirror housings are made in a silver shade, and some exterior elements, including 17—inch wheels, are in black. A stripe with red, white, and blue accents and a star on the passenger side appeared on the driver’s side of the hood.
Similar decorative elements appeared on the sides. Hatchbacks in the MINI 20 Years Edition modification received logos of the special version in the interior, trimmed with black leather and Alcantara. In addition, the new modification of the five-door has a rich basic configuration, which includes some paid options for other versions.
