Mercedes-Benz is preparing to become even more luxurious and premium. The new strategy of the brand focuses on expensive and ultra-exclusive models, but the cheaper Mercedes-Benz will be abandoned. It is reported by the press service of the concern.
Mercedes-Benz plans to increase profitability by 60 percent by 2026 compared to 2019. Since there is no way to drastically increase production, they will focus on expensive models, because the margin on them is higher.
It has already been announced that three more affordable models will be taken out of production – obviously, the Mercedes A-Class Sedan, B-Class, and CLA.
The new classification of Mercedes-Benz models
All Mercedes-Benz models will be divided into three large families:
- Entry Luxury – A-Class, GLA, GLB, EQA, EQB;
- Core Luxury – C-Class, GLC, E-Class, GLE, EQE;
- Top-End Luxury – S-Class, G-Class, EQS, GLS, SL, all Maybach and AMG models.
In the near future, an expansion of the Top-End Luxury family is expected. Particular hopes are pinned on the electric EQG Gelendwagen, there will also be a Maybach version of the Mercedes SL and an electric Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV crossover. In addition, there will be more and more special limited-edition models – such as the unique Project Maybach or the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Haute Voiture.
What cars will be produced under the Mythos brand?
Mercedes-Benz will have a new brand Mythos – its status will be even higher than that of Maybach. The rarest and most exclusive Mercedes for collectors will be produced under this brand.
We already know the first model Mythos will be a special version of the Mercedes-AMG SL double-decker speedster.
