Mercedes-Maybach luxury cars will soon be joined by a retrospective line called Mythos Series, a kind of analog of Ferrari Icona, inspired by legendary vehicles of the past. The firstborn of the series will be a speedster based on the Mercedes-AMG SL, which was shown in the teaser. The launch of the luxurious and exclusive Mythos series will be one of the measures to increase sales in the top-end luxury segment.
According to Autocar, the Mythos Series lineup will include small production cars designed “for the most dedicated Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and collectors,” which will cost more than a luxury Maybach. It is confirmed that the first speedster based on the Mercedes-AMG SL will hit the market, but the company does not specify when it will happen.
In parallel, there will be a unique series of ultra-luxury Mercedes-Maybach, such as Haute Voiture, and continue collaborating with representatives of the fashion and music industries. In general, the German automaker intends to increase investment in the development of its most expensive segment of Top-End Luxury (all AMG and Maybach products, as well as the S-Class, G-Class, and GLS) with the aim to increase sales by 2026 by 60 percent compared with 2019.
On the contrary, the Entry Luxury segment, which includes the A-Class, B-Class, and so on, will be reduced. Earlier it became known that the line will be cut (Entry Luxury, which includes the A-Class, B-Class, and so on) from the current seven to four models, but which ones are not specified. According to one version, the B-Class and CLA may be retired.
