Mercedes-Benz has released new images of the Vision AMG concept. It will make its debut on May 19 and will be a “charged” version of the long-range Vision EQXX prototype.
Judging by the new pictures, the electric car will be equipped with cameras instead of side mirrors, and also it will get a memorable livery of many branded stars.
The first teaser of the Vision AMG concept was quite informative. If you combine a simple sketch with a photo of the Vision EQXX presented in winter, everything will fall into place. The cars share a common profile, which means that on May 19 Mercedes-AMG will show a “charged” version of the EQXX, with more aggressive – as far as the drop-shaped body allows – aerodynamics and the increased output of the power plant.

The EQXX itself is streamlined for high performance and is built on the MMA platform. The architectural feature is the BIO EQXX rear aluminum subframe, cast using topological optimization algorithms, that is, with voids in the unloaded areas. The powertrain on silicon carbide semiconductors is developed in collaboration with Mercedes-AMG High-Performance Powertrains.

It consists of an electric motor on the rear axle with 150 kilowatts, or 204 horsepower, and a 100-kilowatt-hour 900-volt battery with a passive thermal management system. With a capacity close to the EQS, the battery in the Vision EQXX is 50 percent smaller and about 30 percent lighter. The actual range of the electric car is about 1,000 kilometers. The Vision AMG is likely to have less, but the peak output will increase, and maybe there will be a second electric motor.

For example, in the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic+. Its two synchronous engines develop in a total of 484 kilowatts (658 hp) and 950 Nm of torque, and with the AMG Dynamic Plus package – 560 kilowatts (761 hp) and 1020 Nm. The base EQS 53 4Matic+ accelerates from zero to a hundred in 3.8 seconds and 3.4 with the AMG Dynamic Plus package. There are only two days until the premiere of the Vision AMG, so details will be known very soon.
