Jeep Wrangler Overturned during the crash test

Jeep Wrangler Overturned during the crash test 1

The Jeep Wrangler four-door SUV failed the crash test of the American Institute of Road Safety (IIHS). While hitting an obstacle with a slight overlap on the driver’s side, the car overturned. The video and the tests were published online.

It is noted that the safety frame was able to protect the driver, and the restraints also worked effectively. However, the experts still gave the car a very low safety rating.

IIHS experts noted that the SUV tipping over on its side poses an additional risk of injury to passengers. Due to the fact that the car is equipped with removable doors and roof sections, there is a possibility that in the event of an accident, passengers and the driver may simply be thrown out of the cabin.

Moreover, this is the second IIHS crash test that Wrangler passes. During the first tests, the SUV also rolled over. After crash tests, automaker Stellantis promised to fix this problem.
