Jeep company presented the most compact model in its line — the Avenger crossover as part of the Paris International Motor Show. It became the first fully electric car in the history of the brand and is designed primarily for the European market, for which it was developed. The release of the model will be adjusted at the Fiat plant in Poland, and the start of sales is scheduled for March 2023. It is also planned to sell the crossover in Japan and South Korea, but the model will not appear on the home American market.
The new crossover has become the most compact model of the American manufacturer. In length, it reaches only 4.08 meters — this is 16 centimeters shorter than the current generation of the three-door Wrangler. The ground clearance of the Jeep Avenger is 200 millimeters. The angles of the entrance and ramp are 20 degrees, the exit is 32.
The company has separately allocated the largest volume of the front trunk — which is 34 liters. The creators of the crossover noted that on average for the segment, this figure reaches 15 liters. At the same time, the main rear compartment holds a maximum of 380 liters.

The interior design is inspired by the minimalist interior design of the Jeep Wrangler. Along the entire front panel, there is a contrasting detail, which the company calls a “beam”. There are air ducts and some control buttons on it. Just below is a fairly bulky compartment for storing small things. A modular storage system is located on the central tunnel, which can be customized for you. In the space next to the transmission selector, there is an additional compartment where you can simultaneously charge your smartphone and place a 1.5-liter bottle of water.

For a compact model, the Avenger has a fairly rich set of assistants and functions. The crossover is equipped with a second—level autonomous driving system – it can automatically adjust the speed and trajectory, keep a safe distance, and also keep the car in the lane. The crossover also received the function of recognizing road signs, automatic emergency braking systems, driver fatigue monitoring, and active parking assistance.

The electric car is based on the modular platform of the Stellantis concern, on which, for example, Opel Mokka and Peugeot 2008 are built. The electric motor located on the front axle has a peak power of 156 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque. A lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 54 kilowatt-hours is installed under the seats and the central tunnel. According to the WLTP cycle, the power reserve reaches 400 kilometers, but the company claims that in the urban cycle, one battery charge will be enough for 550 kilometers.

In addition to the fully electric version, the Avenger will have a hybrid modification. In Paris, the company introduced an all-wheel drive version of the crossover with an additional electric motor on the rear axle, but the Avenger 4xe still has the status of a concept.

The crossover’s drive is an exclusively front-wheel drive, but this is the first model in the Jeep line that combines it with the Select—Terrain system – off-road modes for snow, mud, and sand. Depending on the type of coating, the car’s electronics connect to an anti-slip system.
The assembly of the crossover will be set up at the Fiat plant in Poland and the first in the series will be an all-electric version, sales of which are due to begin in March 2023. The company has already opened accepting orders for the First Edition welcome series, although the cost of the novelty is still kept secret.
