In the last 24 hours, Hyundai has collected 37,000 orders for the Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric car 1

According to official data, the number of pre-orders for the Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric car has exceeded 37,000 in the last 24 hours. An amazing new record indicates a huge demand for a new electric model.

Earlier this week, Hyundai announced that on the first day of pre-sales, it received 37,446 pre-orders for the brand new Ioniq 6 model in South Korea. This is a stunning new record for the company, significantly exceeding the 23,760 pre-orders for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 placed on the first day of February 2021.

“It’s also a clear sign that the Hyundai Ioniq 6 has been well received and is in huge demand.”

We can assume that as soon as the company opens accepting orders in other markets, such as the USA and Europe, it simply will not be physically able to process all received applications. Buyers will have to act quickly if they hope to get their cars by the end of 2023.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 was presented at the Busan Auto Show in July. The sedan based on the E-GMP platform will be available with two versions of batteries: 53.0 and 77.4 kWh. Thanks to very good aerodynamics, it is expected to provide a fairly good range of up to 610 km according to the WLTP standard.

There are also two drive options: single-engine, rear-wheel drive, and twin-engine, all-wheel drive (up to 239 kW). In the top configuration, they promise acceleration from up to 100 km / h in 5.1 seconds.

Of course, as with other E-GMP-based models, the Hyundai Ioniq’s strength will be its outstanding fast charging capability, which should allow it to charge from 10% to 80% of the state of charge (SOC) in just 18 minutes. In addition to this, there is a “car-loading” (V2L) system for powering external devices through the charging port.

Prices in South Korea, taking into account local subsidies, start at 52 million won in the case of the basic version for long-distance travel.
