Startup City Transformer is preparing for the production of the first Israeli electric car CT-1. In 2024, an unusual model should go on sale, and the French company Segula Technologies will help to arrange its release. Details of the car are disclosed on the official website of the automaker.
CT-1 is a compact 2.2–meter electric car for the city. This is a two-seat capsule on wheels with doors like a Lamborghini. The car has a very non—standard “feature” – it is able to change the width.
The wheels of the City Transformer CT-1 are made sliding. In normal mode, the car reaches 1480 mm in width, but when parking or needing to squeeze into a bottleneck, the wheels are pulled into the body, and the width is reduced to 1000 mm.
In the cabin, the passenger sits behind the driver, as in a motorcycle. The equipment includes air conditioning, a stabilization system, and airbags.
The Israeli CT-1 electric car weighs only 590 kg. In the normal state, it can reach 90 km / h, and in the “narrow” mode – 45 km / h. The power reserve is 180 km.
The cost of an electric car is 16 thousand euros, but with a preliminary order, it will be reduced to 12,500 euros. The car promises to be easy to manufacture, because its design has only 1500 parts, whereas most modern cars consist of 10 thousand spare parts.
