The first photos of the new Mahindra Scorpio-N are published. The inexpensive SUV will be shown on June 27 in India and will go on sale at a price of $20,000 to $26,000. This is reported by the official website of the automaker.
The model comes to replace Mahindra Scorpio which was produced in 2002 (in Europe the model is known under the name Mahindra Goa). The letter “N” stands for New. The production will be set up at a new factory in Chakan city in India. The SUV is positioned as a budget alternative to the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.

Engineers and designers from India and the United States have worked on the car. The developers have kept the classic proportions of SUVs with a high hood and low angles of inclination of the roof pillars. At the same time, Mahindra Scorpio-N became more streamlined and muscular. Its wheel arches have been widened, and its sides have been made more relief.
The new Mahindra Scorpio-N still keeps its frame construction. The SUV will be slightly bigger and more spacious inside. The equipment of the model will be significantly expanded: it is known that the car will receive LED headlights, a virtual dashboard, and a large touchscreen in portrait format.

Mahindra Scorpio-N will be offered with a 2.0-liter 150-horsepower turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-liter turbo diesel 132 hp version with a six-speed manual and automatic transmission, rear and all-wheel drive. The car will retain good off-road capabilities.
