Mercedes-Benz G-Class has received the most non-standard version. The SUV has been turned into a real limousine and even armored. This is reported by the site Klassen.
The unusual tuning of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class was made in a German studio Klassen which specializes in creating armored limousines. The car is already available for ordering: its cost is not named, but it probably exceeds half a million euros.
Mercedes G-Class cut in half and added a meter insert with a window between the doors. As a result, the length of the car reached 5,897 mm, and the wheelbase – 3,906 mm.
Armor standard B7 protects from machine gun or sniper rifle 7.62 mm and withstands two grenades. The tires allow continuing driving in case of a puncture. In addition, there is a fire extinguishing system.
The interior of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is designed according to the individual customer’s order. Inside, separate power seats can be installed, and expensive leather and wood are used in the trim.
Since the armored limousine Mercedes-Benz G-Class became significantly heavier, it was decided to install a more powerful engine. The turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine with an output of 585 hp is borrowed from the charged Mercedes-AMG G63.
