Today, a special Hyundai N Day event was held, at which the Korean manufacturer made many important announcements and showed a couple of concepts. One of them was the RN22e sedan.
In fact, this is a sports incarnation of the usual Ioniq 6. It is likely that a different name was specially chosen for the concept. If such a car really goes into production, then it will probably get the traditional prefix “N” to the usual name.
Like all models of the Hyundai sports division, the RN22e is painted in the corporate color. The sedan also received other bumpers, “cilia” on the headlights, a huge wing, and new brake calipers. The rest of the Ioniq 6 has retained recognizable features.

But what the car will definitely not be able to boast of is the recoil of the power plant. There are two electric motors, developing a total of 577 horsepower. That is, exactly as much as the Kia EV6 GT gives out. However, the creators claim that when creating the RN22e, controllability was put at the forefront. We have a real track monster in front of us, capable of hitting many famous gasoline sports cars in turns.
According to Hyundai, the RN22e became the first car that can rightfully be called a high-performance test bed for the E-GMP platform. The developers will continue to work on weight reduction, determine the most effective thrust vector, and will also experiment with the sound of the power plant, which they will try to make as juicy and attractive as possible.
In addition to new concepts, the Koreans shared information about the hot crossover Ioniq 5 N. Unfortunately, the electric car was not shown, and its technical part was not even disclosed, but it was noted that its debut will take place in 2023.
