Hyundai has started testing the «charged» electric car Ioniq 5 N 1

Photos with a test prototype of the “charged” electric car Ioniq 5 N have been published. The body of the novelty, which was captured on the Nurburgring track, is covered with a film with a pattern similar to a Racing flag.

The first acquaintance with the “charged” crossover Ioniq 5 N, which occurred in September 2021, showed a two-tone black and silver test car, completely devoid of camouflage. Another prototype of the novelty was captured without camouflage on the Nurburgring highway, but since then Hyundai has been constantly masking test versions of the Ioniq 5 N. A couple of hours ago, a video appeared on the YouTube channel CarSpyMedia, which again captures the upcoming electric N-model from Hyundai on the “Ring”. Now a film similar to a checkered flag is draped over the body, and complex testing equipment is installed on the wheels.

“It is quite possible that earlier journalists did not come across versions of the novelty with those modifications that are prepared for a more powerful N-version of the electric car.”

In any case, the high-performance electric model will not differ significantly from the standard Ioniq 5. The car looks surprisingly nimble when passing the turns of the Nurburgring. We also don’t hear any screeching from the tires.

There is every reason to believe that the Ioniq 5 N will at least get the same twin-engine power plant that is in the EV6 GT. Its power is 577 horsepower. Driving all four wheels with such force, Kia can accelerate to 100 km/ h in 3.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is 260 km/ h. However, we know that the E-GMP platform, on which both of these machines are built, has more power. It is quite possible that Hyundai can literally increase the power a little, possibly reaching the 600 HP mark.
