Ford refuses to release Focus. One of the most popular models in the history of the brand will be discontinued in 2025. The sensational news was announced by the head of the European division of Ford Motor, Stuart Rowley, in an interview with Automotive News Europe.
According to him, the current, fourth-generation Ford Focus will be the last. The model has recently been updated and in this form will last on the assembly line for another three years. A new generation of Ford Focus is not planned. Now the management of the Ford concern is looking for a new application for the plant in German Saarloui, where the model is assembled.

The reason for this decision is the sharp drop in demand for Focus in recent years. Traditional C-class hatchbacks are now losing popularity because buyers are increasingly choosing crossovers.
Back in 2014, more than 870 thousand Ford Focus were sold, and in 2017 – 560 thousand, then last year he found only 117.5 thousand buyers. Since 2019, the model has already stopped selling in the USA, Canada, and Australia, and now it is available only in Europe and China.
The first Ford Focus appeared in 1998 as a replacement for the Escort model. In just 24 years, over 17 million of these cars have been produced.
