Ford has shared the details of the largest construction project in its history: a giant plant, which is called BlueOval City, in Tennessee, USA. In terms of area, the plant can really be compared to a small provincial town – it is spread out over almost 16 square kilometers. It is assumed that BlueOval City will provide jobs for six thousand people, and it will be put into operation in 2025.

The company cites some figures: for example, to prepare for the installation of frame structures on the territory of the plant had to move 3.5 million cubic meters of soil and 370 thousand tons of stones. It will be not only the largest but also the most advanced Ford plant in the entire 119-year history of the automaker. The investment in the project is $5.6 billion.

So far, only what is known is that the capacities of BlueOval City will produce some “revolutionary” electric pickup truck, which has not been presented yet. This promising model will allow Ford to sell up to two million electric cars a year by 2026. It will also organize the production of batteries for electric cars.

According to one of the versions, an electric pickup truck, which will be more compact than the already produced F-150 Lightning, is under development. Chevrolet and Ram pickups will be the main competitors of the new product.
