Ford has announced the recall of an unknown number of Mustang vehicles with manual transmissions produced between January 8, 2018, and December 16, 2020. The reason for the campaign was problems with the position sensors of the gearbox lever and the electronic transmission control module.
Because of this, the control module may transmit an incorrect signal to the rearview camera control unit, as well as to the parking assistance system. In addition, clutch slippage could be observed at the start. It is reported that NHTSA has compiled a list of 200 complaints. According to preliminary data, more than 25,000 cars fall under the recall.

Owners of the above cars will soon receive a personal notification about the need to visit the nearest authorized Ford service center. Of course, the issues will be solved by installing working firmware. It is noted that while the car is at the dealer, experts will check it for participation in two other recall campaigns.
