Ford GT compared in Drag Race with Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 1

In the new season of the Top Gear car show, the heroes of the next episode are supercars representing two continents and two schools of creating powerful and expensive cars. In a duel for a quarter of a mile, journalists brought together a Ford GT of the latest generation and a Lamborghini Aventador, and supercars were chosen in special versions: the American model is performed by the Heritage Edition of 2021, and the Italian model is in the SVJ modification.

The Italian supercar with a curb weight of more than one and a half tons — 1,525 kilograms — has in its arsenal an atmospheric 6.5-liter V12 with a capacity of 770 horsepower and a torque of 720 Nm.

The advantages of the model in a straight-line race include all-wheel drive, which allows you to realize your full potential more effectively when starting from a place. As for the American coupe, it is slightly lighter — “only” 1385 kilograms — and has rear-wheel drive.

In terms of power, the supercar is also inferior to its rival, since it is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost turbo engine with a capacity of 660 horsepower and a thrust of 746 Nm.

However, as the Top Gear race showed, the characteristics are not crucial if the driver cannot dispose of all the potential of a supercar. Especially when it comes to driving on dirty and dusty asphalt.
