Land Rover has shared the first official photo of the new Defender 130 with an eight-seat interior and announced the premiere date of May 31. There are already some details about the three-row SUV: it is expected to surpass the length of Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Toyota Land Cruiser 300, as well as become the most expensive and status Defender in the lineup. As for the teaser photo, you can see additional window sections in the rear of the car.

Most of the body parts of Defender 130 are unified with 90 and 110 versions, and among the differences are increased wheelbase, lengthened roof, additional window sections, and third row of seats. The company has confirmed that the seating arrangement will be 2+3+3.

Land Rover has not disclosed its dimensions yet, but according to unofficial data the length of 130th will be 5.1 meters, that is it will be 34 cm longer than Defender 110 and almost 78 cm longer than Defender 90. The engine range will be the same as that of 90 and 110, including a top-end 5-liter V8 with 525 horsepower.

The start of order intake will open on the day of the premiere, so we can expect price announcements at the end of May.

At the beginning of the 2022 British edition, Autocar found out that family Defender may include a pickup in the future, the main competitors of which will be Ford Ranger and Mitsubishi L200. In the meantime, two years ago, British journalists reported that Land Rover refused the idea of producing a version with this type of body – the reason was that Defender which changed generation became too prestigious to make it a utilitarian truck version.
