After another loss of points due to a fall at the Australian Grand Prix, the current MotoGP champion Fabio Quartararo is forced to switch to a risky plan “B”: he lost the lead in the 2022 championship, which passed into the hands of Pecco Bagnaia.
Immediately after the departure and after the finish of the race in Phillip Island, as well as after the failure in Thailand, Fabio did not immediately come out to reporters. The third drop of the season, another loss of points. The reason this time is a pure pilot error!
“In turn 4, I had problems… I made a mistake there on the first lap, then again. But then I decided to rehabilitate myself and began to attack. I drove very briskly into the 2nd turn, I could pass two rivals at once, but still, I entered the arc too quickly. I didn’t even brake too hard there, but still, the front wheel blew off,” said Quartararo.
After finishing on the podium (3rd place), Pecco Bagnaia led the MotoGP championship and now has a 14-point net advantage over Quartararo.
“Now we have only one chance left, how to keep the title: we have to attack and win. There are two races ahead, it’s possible. I think we can do it in Sepang. We’ll see.”
