Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP and World Championship leader Fabio Quartararo are looking for all possible ways to minimize the losses from Ducati’s dominance at the Red Bull Ring: the last attempt is the morning warm-up of the Austrian Grand Prix.
The first starting grid line was occupied by Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing), Pecco Bagnaia, and Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team). Quartararo qualified 5th, and on both sides of the second grid line, he is closely guarded by his Pramac Racing partners – Joan Zarco and Jorge Martin.
Almost always, when a similar or similar combination was formed after qualifying, Quartararo had no real chance of passing Ducati, of course, if they did not fall. But now Fabio has two more rivals – they are partners in Aprilia Racing. Vinales was 2nd in a cool warm-up.
The weather in Spielberg is cool in the morning: it was only +17 degrees, but it was dry. The forecast for rains remains contradictory for the middle of the day.
