American team Hoonigan, which in addition to preparing cars for races and maintaining its own blog, presented another episode of its online project This vs. That. The authors of the channel decided to continue to compare cars of different classes, but this time the participants of the duel became only the representatives of Japan – the rivals to the compact hatchback Honda CRX got the coupe Nissan Skyline of the cult generation R34. Such dissimilar cars turned out to be very close according to their parameters.
Honda hatchback, released in 1988, was professionally prepared for drag racing, which is the maximum weight of the body (mass of the car less than 900 kilograms) and increasing the power of the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine to 250 horsepower. The engine is combined with a 5-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive.
Nissan’s rear-wheel drive coupe has a 2,5-liter turbo engine with 300 horsepower, but more power is combined with higher weight – the weight of the coupe is almost one and a half tons. The car is also equipped with a 5-speed manual, so in this component the duelists are equal.
The advantage of the power and type of drive seems to be on the side of Skyline, but CRX has about the same engine output, but it is significantly lighter. Who came out the winner of this unusual duel? The answer can be found in the video.
