Chinese Dongfeng has published the first photos of the new crossover called Hoaji, which is close in size to the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan X-Trail models. Sales of the cars will start by the end of this year.
The exterior distinguishing feature of the crossover is a massive grille with vertical slats, as well as narrow, LED optics and a small spoiler on the back edge of the roof.
Inside the car still can be judged only on the design sketches, which show the front panel with integrated digital displays of virtual dashboard and infotainment system.
As for the technical stuffing, Dongfeng Hoaji is created on a DSMA (Dongfeng Superior Modular Architecture) modular platform with independent rear suspension, which is an upgraded version of the CMP Stellantis architecture.
The crossover will be offered with a 1.5-liter “turbo-four” gasoline 190 hp, working together with a seven-speed “robot” with two clutches. Besides, the model will have a hybrid modification with 163-horsepower petrol units and an electric motor with 177 horsepower. More details about the novelty will be known later.
