On the eve of October 27, XPeng delivered to the home market the first batch of nine G9s in single-engine all-wheel drive versions “Max” and “Pro”. The automaker has not forgotten about its customers in Europe.
XPeng has brought a demo version of the G9 SUV to Norway. For its European customers, the brand has prepared three versions of the SU: rear-wheel drive and a pair of all-wheel drive. There is no information about prices yet, and order books will open only in the second quarter of 2023. The first deliveries of commercial vehicles are scheduled for the third quarter of next year.
The length of the medium-sized electric SUV XPeng G9 is almost 4.9 meters with a wheelbase of about 3 meters.
The front part of the electric car is decorated in the corporate style of X Robot Face with narrow DRL and large high beam blocks. At the same time, the decor here is quite minimalistic. Such a stingy design had a positive effect on the low coefficient of aerodynamic drag of 0.27 Cd. The SUV also gets retractable door handles.
“There was a place in the car interior for an audio system with 22 speakers in the top version, digital appliances, and multimedia with a large touchscreen.”
The new G9 is based on the X-EEA 3.0 platform. The most expensive SUV has all-wheel drive and a 551-horsepower powerplant. The top-end electric car spends only 3.9 seconds to accelerate to a hundred. The 313-horsepower base G9 copes with this task in 6.4 seconds. The maximum speed of RWD and 4WD reaches 200 km/h.
The most affordable electric car is equipped with a 78.2 kWh battery and travels up to 570 km without recharging. A car with rear-wheel drive and a 98 kWh battery will travel 702 km. All-wheel drive G9 with the same battery – 650 km. At home, the SUV is presented in eight different trim levels priced from 309,900 to 469,900 yuan.
