The compact Microlino is a modern variation on the BMW Isetta theme. The electric car can travel up to 230 km without recharging.
The original Microlino electric car entered production in Turin, Italy. The miniature car will be sold at a price of 12,500 euros. This is reported by the official website of the automaker.
The two-seat Microlino is a modern version of the famous 1955 BMW Isetta. A non-standard project has been implemented for several years and the first prototype of an electric car was presented back in 2020.
The appearance of the car was created in the Italian studio ICONA Design. With its design, the Microlino electric car largely repeats the famous ancestor. It has a similar silhouette and a single door located in front. At the same time, the car has improved aerodynamics and made it slightly higher to increase the interior space.

The Microlino interior is quite modest, like the BMW Isetta. The car does not have an airbag on the steering wheel, and the instrument readings are displayed on a small display.
The Microlino is equipped with a 26-horsepower engine and is capable of developing 90 km/h. There are three battery options to choose from:
— with a capacity of 6 kWh – a power reserve of 95 km;
— with a capacity of 10.5 kWh – a power reserve of 175 km;
— with a capacity of 14 kWh – a power reserve of 230 km.
Microlino has already collected 24,000 pre-orders. 3000 cars will be produced by the end of the year and in 2023 – 6000. Later, production volumes will increase to 25,000 cars per year.
