In May, the premiere of the flagship version of the BMW M4 coupe will take place — the CSL (Coupe Sport Lightweight) version will feature a lightweight body, a more powerful engine, as well as an aggressive aerodynamic body kit. Apart from the two teasers, there is no other information about this model yet, but a video dedicated to the development of pre-production prototypes of the new BMW M4 CSL has appeared on the official channel of the German brand’s M-division. And at the same time, one of the engineers revealed the first details about the upcoming premiere.
The novelty was presented by a BMW M engineer, who since 2013 has been engaged in handling and driving characteristics of all road “charged” models of the brand — Jorg Weidinger. According to the expert, the main task when working on the novelty was the combination of comfort on public roads and speed on the race track.
The M4 CSL will receive Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, as well as a number of other improvements. Judging by the camouflaged prototypes, the novelty will be equipped with a developed body kit, including a front bumper dotted with air intakes, a trunk lid with a spoiler, and the roof will be carbon fiber.
The interior will feature an Alcantara steering wheel, steering wheel lobes of the gearbox with red decor, and seat belts stitched in the colors of the BMW M logo.
The teaser video also hints that the novelty can compete for the best lap time on the Northern Loop, but there is no official information about this yet. Recall that the premiere of the BMW M4 CSL will take place within the framework of the Concorso d’Eleganza automotive beauty contest, which will be held in Italy from May 20 to 22.
